My name is Angelika and I from Austria. I was born in Vienna but grew up in a small village on the countryside. After finishing school I moved back to Vienna by myself as there are much more possibilities, especially education-wise. The hardest part was definitely leaving my beloved pets behind, as they stayed with my parents. I was considering adopting a dog, but as I will continue to travel and move around without always being able to take the dog with me, it would not be a responsible decision at that point and it makes much more sense to help other pet owners out.
I love and look after anyone's animals just as much as my own and really enjoy caring for them. Now that I am abroad most of the time, I decided to focus more on international platforms. You can find the links to my other pet sitting accounts in the next section.
I have always been fond of getting to know new places, so despite the fact that I love Vienna, I also like to escape the city from time to time, particularly during winter. Currently, I focus on learning photography & videography and also drawing, which are all huge passions of mine. It's usually distance learning courses, so I am very flexible.
Last October I started combining pet sitting with house sitting, meaning I stay over at people's places for the period of time they are away, which in my case has been from a couple of days to three months. I can totally understand that the thought of not only have someone look after their pets but also handing over responsibilities regarding one's home can feel discomforting. As a rather sensitive person myself, so I can see how it might lead to some anxious thoughts. I am always trying my best to make the experience easy, by giving frequent updates and of course sending photos of the pets. I am organized and do actually enjoy typical household activities like cleaning, washing, organising and making sure everything is in its place, I think it can be calming.
Depending on the situation I sometimes prefer traveling on my own, but other times I travel with my partner or friends. In case I plan on coming together with another person, I would of course discuss everything with you in detail.
I am keen on getting to know places like a local, which is one of the reasons I am so fond of the idea of house sitting, while combining it with one of the things I like the most: spending time with animals. I am happiest when I am around animals and simply enjoy being in company of animals so much. I strive to walk quite a bit each day, so I also love walking dogs of course.
In order to get a response quicker it would be really helpful if you could tell me the approximate location as well as the time for the visit, in case you have a preference regarding the time. Then I can check compatibility and we can arrange things faster.
Home visits usually have a duration between 30 and 60 minutes, but adjustments can be made of course.
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviours I should look out for. I would be grateful if you could inform me about any areas your dog might have issues in, e.g. when it comes to your dog interacting with other dogs, children etc., just so that I'm prepared in case a difficult situation arises.
In case you are making an enquiry for house sitting, I would kindly ask you to add some photos of the living space. Please understand, I am not picky about this, but as these requests are becoming more and more and I am spending a lot of time living in different places, I increasingly appreciate a space I can feel comfortable in.
Angelika is my new favorite person! I am so so grateful for her care both of Cooper and my flat! I came home to a gorgeously happy dog and my flat was looking sparking clean! She sent daily photo and video updates and was so loving with Cooper! She is the best!!!
Angelika was great with the animals and they were comfortable with her. Highly recommendable!
