Hello fellow animal lovers!

My name is Rachel, and I currently live in the Reinickendorf area of Berlin. 

I am a life-long animal lover with extensive experience caring for animals both professionally and in my own home. My love of animals began early. My first job at 16 years old was in our local pet shop where I learned to care for animals of all kinds and after this, I furthered my love of animals by completing a degree in Zoology and a Masters in Animal Behaviour. I worked on a nature reserve in direct contact with cows, horses, and both wild and captive birds - so I have a lot of experience with different species and behaviours! 

With regards to my own pets, I have always had dogs (my family are long-time border collie lovers) and have pet-sat for others in addition to this (mostly rats, cats and dogs). 

I am more than comfortable caring for animals of all sizes, from newfoundlands to mice!

Caring for the pets of others is a big responsibility and trust is vital. I recognize the importance of getting to know the quirks of each animal and adjusting my behaviour accordingly. As such, if you'd like to hire me, please provide me with as much information about your pets as possible - likes, dislikes, any anxieties, and of course their favourite games, toys and treats!

Some more information regarding my services: 

House sitting for dogs:

I live in my own apartment with no other pets or children - the apartment has a common, closed in garden where pets can be given outdoor time.

I will only board dogs from the same home together - never dogs that have never met before. I am happy to board 2 dogs at one time and 3 if they are medium or small breeds. With cats I am happy to take up to 3 at once. 

As I work from home, your pet will never be left alone and will have plenty of attention and company! Dogs will be walked roughly three times a day - in the morning, afternoon and evening (this can be discussed depending on your dog, for example senior dogs can be given shorter walks). There is a beautiful forest 10 minutes from my home where longer walks can be given. The morning walk will likely be shorter (half an hour) whereas the evening walk will be roughly one hour (possibly longer if the weather is nice!).  

Your pet can sleep either in my living room or in my bedroom - wherever they feel the most secure. 

I am happy to administer oral medication, eye drops and other simple medications. I am also happy to provide some light grooming if your pet enjoys this.
