I am an Italian scientist living in Berlin and cat lover. Since I moved abroad, it was not able to adopt a cat due to frequent travel and living in small studio apartments, but I miss living with a loving feline. Indeed, before moving abroad I lived with my family and we adopted a cat when I was 14 yo. She was a little feral at the beginning, because she had to overcome hunger and traumas, but being welcomed in a calm and warm environment helped her to open up. I started catsitting for some friends last year and I enjoyed the possibility of being a temporary cat-step-mum while at the same time helping friends. In my previous experiences, I was visiting the cats in their apartments: I would follow my friends instructions about feeding and play time, while sending them pictures and videos about their pet. Unfortunately I cannot keep pets in my building. I love dogs, too, but I lack the authority necessary to discipline them.
