Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your District 9 home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like District 9.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your District 9 home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi! I’m currently living in Düsseldorf for a few months due to work, but I’m originally from Madrid
I have over 9 years of experience volunteering with an animal rescue, where I care for both dogs and cats, support their daily routines, and help them prepare for adoption. I have also worked as a foster home, taking care of animals until they find their forever families. Thanks to this, I am very used to handling different personalities, including shy, anxious, reactive, or very energetic pets.
I offer dog walks (30–60 minutes), home visits, and pet sitting. I always adapt to each pet’s needs and routine, whether they require long walks, playtime, or a calm and quiet environment. I am comfortable following specific instructions regarding feeding, medication, and daily habits.
I work Monday to Friday, but I have a flexible schedule and can work from home, which allows me to adapt to your pet’s needs. I am available in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. During pet sitting, I make sure pets are not left alone for long periods and I adjust my routine to spend quality time with them.
I have experience with different situations, including nervous or reactive pets, and I always prioritize a calm and patient approach. If any unexpected situation occurs, I will take your pet to their regular veterinarian or to a 24-hour veterinary clinic and contact you immediately.
I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I will make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for, and I will keep you updated with regular messages and photos.
I would be very happy to take care of your pet during my time in Düsseldorf and give them the attention and care they deserve

Hallo

Hello! My name is Selena, I turn 19 in March and live in Germany. I will be done with school in May, which means I would have a lot of freetime for the rest of the year. I would like to spend this time caring for animals in another country. Animals have always been an important part of my life, which is why becoming a pet sitter feels completely natural to me! I truly enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with one of your family members, and I take that responsibility very seriously.
I have experience caring for dogs and cats. My tasks have included feeding, walking, playing, administering basic medication, cleaning litter boxes, and providing plenty of attention and affection. I adapt to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and routine to ensure they feel secure and stress-free! ️ Also, I have a dog myself at home which I take care of every day. Apart from that, I had 2 cats for 8 years but unfortunately they passed away a few years ago ago due to age.
I am patient and attentive to details. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or calm and shy, I will treat them with kindness and respect. I prefer caring for vaccinated pets to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
-> I offer overnight stays in your home. Staying in their familiar environment helps reduce stress and keeps their daily routine consistent. It also means I am always there to provide company and supervision, ensuring your pet is never alone for long periods. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special needs or medication! :)
During my stay, I make sure your home remains secure and well cared for. I respect your space, and follow any safety routines you prefer. I also provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pet is doing, of course.
I would also truly enjoy the opportunity to discover new neighborhoods and environments!! It is always exciting for me to experience different places while doing something I love which is caring for animals. :)

Hello! I'm an animal lover with extensive experience caring for all kinds of pets. I've lived with cats and dogs my whole life and have always felt very comfortable around any species. I love spending time with them, playing, giving them affection, and making sure they feel happy, calm, and safe while their owners are away. I've also cared for other pets, which has taught me to adapt to different personalities, routines, and needs.

I'm a responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented person: I make sure to follow each owner's instructions, provide food and walks according to their schedules, and keep them entertained and company. For me, every pet is unique and deserves personalized attention and lots of love. I truly enjoy seeing them feel comfortable and confident in my care, and I always strive to create a safe and warm environment for them. Caring for animals isn't just a job; it's a true passion that motivates me every day.

As a passionate animal lover with experience caring for pets (my own and those of others), I am thrilled to apply for the role of a pet sitter in Cologne and its surrounds. My motivation to be a pet sitter stems from a deep-rooted love and respect for animals. Growing up in South Africa surrounded by my dogs, cats, pet mice, pet rats and my chicken, and many other animals, I've developed a strong bond and understanding of their needs and behaviours. Being a pet sitter allows me to extend that love and care to other animals while providing peace of mind to pet owners, while satisfying my own emotional needs. The love of an animal stems far beyond that of any human.
My previous experience includes pet and house sitting for friends, family, and neighbours. I've cared for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. Whether it's taking them for their walks, administering medication, or simply providing companionship and belly rubs, I prioritize the well-being and happiness of each animal under my care.
When it comes to the safety of the pets entrusted to me, I take it very seriously. I thus only look after vaccinated pets. This ensures the health and safety of all animals I care for and provides reassurance to their owners.
In summary, my passion for animals, coupled with my experience and commitment to pet safety, makes me a reliable and trustworthy choice to care for your babies. I look forward to the opportunity to care for your furry children!
