Top cities for house sitting in Germany

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Schriesheim home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Schriesheim.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Schriesheim home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hallo liebe Hundebesitzer,
Sarah

Hii! I’m Aylin, an exchange mathematics student currently living in Mannheim, and I am a true animal lover at heart. I moved here from Istanbul—well known as the "City of Cats"—where growing up surrounded by furry friends on every corner is just part of life.
Back home, I have a beautiful 6-year-old cat who is my best friend. To be honest, I miss him incredibly much every single day. This longing is exactly why I want to be a pet sitter. Since I cannot have my own pet with me here, I would love to share that bottled-up affection and care with your beloved pets. For me, pet sitting is a way to feel at home again and help animals feel safe and loved while their owners are away.
I have years of experience caring for cats and dogs, understanding their unique moods, and making sure they are happy, fed, and entertained. I can't wait to meet your furry family members and give them all the cuddles and attention they deserve🫶🏼

Hello Pet Parents!
My name is Surtarangini, I am a 21 year old student at the Heidelberg University. I offer at home dog-sitting and walking services. As someone who has moved abroad to pursue higher studies and terribly misses her dogs at home and all the dogs she cared for in her college days in India, being a pet sitter is not just a job for me, rather a solace to my heart. I see this job as a service to the society I now live in while also getting the chance to earn some extra cash to sustain a comfortable life as a student.
I have grown up with many dogs, big and small. From teaching them tricks, to feeding and bathing, even cleaning after them, staying up all night when they are sick and tending to their wounds, I have had quite an experience with dogs. In my late teens I have adopted rescues and street dogs. During my studies in India, I had taken care of many dogs in my University campus. Befriending a dog who was very afraid of humans and watching her get zoomies everytime she saw me, would be my best memory thus far. Given these experiences, I think I would make a great person to leave your dog(s) with. I am sure that I can adapt to the needs of your dog(s) and take good care of them when you need.
I only offer at-home services, which include:
Walking, Pet sitting at home ( upto twice a day) and House sitting over night.
Please note: I unfortunately do not have experience with cats, however I am open to the opportunity.
Any specific / extra requirements to suit you and your pet can be discussed as well.

I eagerly look forward to taking care of your fur babies and giving them all the love my heart can fathom!'
With love,
Surtarangini

Hi! I'm Rocío. I'm 26 and come directly from the South of Spain. There, we always shared our home with pets. So I'm super used to them and I cannot imagine my life without them around. When I was little, Dino, a small dog, was the love of our lives. That's when I understood the importance of having four legs around. Later, I grew up with Nora, our prettiest love, who will always be. Living with pets is not only about taking care of them and enjoying them, but I really feel they are the ones who make us feel loved and important. Sharing life with those little buddies is the best feeling ever, and this could be one of the most rewarding jobs here.
My free times are mostly in the morning from Monday to Thursday, then afternoon and evening on Friday and Saturday and Sunday the whole day! Unfortunately, I couldn't be able to have your beautiful buddies at home but I can visit yours and also having walks with them! I'm quite used to be around pets so don't ever doubt asking for whatever you need :)

Hi, fellow cat lovers!
I’ve been a cat person my whole life, and for the past 15 years I’ve been caring for cats for friends, family, and clients across Mannheim and the Rhein-Neckar area. I have my own cat at home, so I know firsthand how hard it is to leave them behind, and I treat every cat I care for like my own.
I pay attention to who your cat actually is, whether playful or shy, cuddly or independent, and adapt to what makes them comfortable.
What you can expect:

Daily updates with notes, photos, and videos
Litter sweeping and cat-related tidying (with your supplies)
Experience with medications, vet emergencies, and special needs
Comfortable with kittens, seniors (13+), and multi-cat households (up to 6 cats)
Help with plants, mail, and ventilation

I speak fluent English and Russian, and conversational German (still improving). Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Hello! My name is Parmis and l am a caring, patient and responsible student living in Heidelberg. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I am especially in love with dogs. I also have a dog of my own named Luna, who has taught me so much about communication, patience and understanding different dog personalities.
Because of this, I truly know how important it is for owners to find someone
trustworthy who treats their pet with real love and attention.
My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from the joy I feel when spending time with dogs and the calm energy they bring into my day. I enjoy long walks, playing outdoors and giving each dog the space and comfort they need. Whether a dog is shy, energetic, playful or strong, I adapt to their needs and make sure they feel safe and relaxed with me.
I offer gentle, reliable and enjoyable walks, always focusing on safety and positive experiences. For everyone's well-being, I only accept vaccinated pets. I look forward to meeting your lovely companion and giving them a happy time outside.
