Top cities for house sitting in Germany

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Westliche Vorstadt home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Westliche Vorstadt.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Westliche Vorstadt home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I am an animal lover, responsible and reliable. While I learn the language and culture of this beautiful country, I am dedicating myself to caring for dogs. For me, this is not just a job, is an escape and a reinvention after many years working in corporate offices.I understand that leaving your pet with someone else requires a lot of trust. That’s why I focus on providing personalized care for each dog, adapting to their individual needs and routines.I have experience caring for small and medium-sized dogs, including my owns Shih Tzu (I have 2), so I know their routines and emotional needs very well. I enjoy playing with them and going for walks outdoors, but always on a leash. I am a bit overprotective, so for safety reasons, I don’t feel comfortable letting them off-leash in open areas.I follow instructions carefully, respect specific diets, and can administer oral medication if needed. I also like to maintain regular communication so you can always stay informed. If you need a helping hand on busy days, feel free to book with me. I offer flexible services depending on your needs, including daily walks (30–60 minutes), home visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I adapt easily to different personalities, from energetic dogs who love activity to shy or senior dogs who need a calmer and gentler approach. I always follow each dog’s routine to reduce stress and help them feel comfortable. I am attentive, safety-focused, and prepared to act responsibly in any unexpected situation. My goal is to provide a structured, safe, and loving environment at all times.

Hello and good day to you, I am Ravina Anna, grew up with various pets since a young age (cats, dogs, birds, turtles, ducks, fish etc.). I love animals so much and love being around them.
My experience is strongest in caring for cats I have more than 20 years experience caring for cats of all sizes and personalities. This includes special care after surgery, administering oral medications/anti-flea/ointments, wound dressing, grooming, pet hygiene etc.
At the moment I cannot bring animals to my apartment due to landlord rules, but I can definitely come over to your place to take care of all your pet needs. I can play with your cats, give lots of cuddles, clean litter box, ensure food and clean water are available and so on. I am also great with plants, picking up mail, running errands, cooking, groceries etc. so just let me know how I can help.
I am very respectful to your space and belongings, extremely clean and attentive to details, and can follow instructions including medical prescriptions. I have a medical laboratory/public health university education and know first aid. I work in the non-profit field where my work schedule is flexible (mainly remote).
Please note I am offering a flexible daily rate mainly because I love spending time with cats. I am just looking for little extra income as I am financially supporting two additional households in my home country and I love caring for cats anyway so here I am
I speak English and Arabic at native levels. I reside in 14055 and I am flexible to come your way across Berlin. My daily fee includes the Pawshake app service fees of 19%, so kindly bear in mind that my actual net payment will be less than advertised. Please choose the add-on service for transport so I can get reimbursed for the cost of the roundtrip train tickets on days when I care for your lovely pets.
Thank you for considering my services, and I look forward to supporting you and your lovely furry family.

I am a pet owner with three cats currently. They are with me for 6 years. I have been fostering many cats and dogs with trauma last 7 years after loosing my first cat Sardur 7 years ago. I have made many dogs and cats fostered. Now i would like to professionally care dogs and cats as additionall budget for making my self financially available to add our family a dog with trauma. That is my motivation.
I am a climate &energy policy expert currently moved to Berlin th my partner and our 4 cats.
I have self organized, flexible work schedule. This is a great opportunity to spare my time to my best hoby, dogs.
I can pet sitting dogs and cats both because i have 7 years fostering many cats and dogs. I have volunteered for animal organizations but also my self helped many rescued animals regained trust with humans before their new homes.

Some cats are fine with two quick drop-ins a day. Others want the flat, the routine, and a calm human there at night. I specialize in those cats.
I'm Yuko, a Berlin-based cat sitter and house sitter focused entirely on per-night overnight stays. Since 2018 I've completed more than 100 overnight sits across Berlin and Europe, and more than 10 homeowners rebook me year after year. I come to the owner's home, so the cat stays in their own territory the whole time. For most cats, that is the lowest-stress option, and it is the reason my whole practice is built around this format.
I've cared for the full personality range: confident lap cats, anxious hiders, bonded pairs, senior cats on daily medication, and cats recovering from surgery with cones, wound checks, and eye drops. I call myself a self-taught cat behaviourist because I read the science obsessively, which shows up in small ways: I notice the early signals (appetite, litter habits, posture, mood) and message you the same day if anything seems off. Photo and video updates go out every couple of days by default, more often if you prefer.
One more thing I grew up with: 立つ鳥跡を濁さず, a Japanese proverb meaning "a bird does not foul the nest it leaves." For me, that means I tidy up before I leave, so you come back to a calm home.
What is your motivation to be a pet sitter?
I love cats, and I love the quiet trust that grows between a cat and a sitter they feel safe with. Overnight sits fit the calm, home-based routine I already live by, which makes me a natural match for cats who prefer steady company. Owners get overnight peace of mind, I get to care for cats I adore, and both sides win. That's why this has been my main work for years, not a side job.
Do you have previous experience?
Yes. I've been a full-time cat sitter since 2018, and I have completed more than 100 overnight sits so far. 10+ households rebook me every year. I don't keep a flat of my own. I move from sit to sit, and I usually take one to three longer housesits a month rather than many short ones. I've cared for cats across the full personality range: confident lap cats, shy hiders, senior cats, bonded pairs, and cats recovering from surgery. On the medical side: oral medications on schedule, eye drops, topical treatments, wound checks, and cone management. I also handle the house side reliably every sit: plants, mail, bins, parcel deliveries, and short conversations with German-only neighbours using a mix of translation app, gestures, and slowly improving Deutsch.
What info I need from you before a sit
Before a sit, I ask owners for a few practical things: medical notes, your vet's contact details, any medications your cat is on (only if any), and any special routines or needs I should follow. Since I always sit in your home and never host pets myself, vaccinations are the owner's responsibility. What I care about is that your cat is healthy and that the info is shared clearly. That way the sit runs smoothly for all three of us: you, me, and the cat ‍
