About Rebekah
Hello! My name is Rebekah and I would love to take care of your lovely pets! I am originally from the US and have lived in Berlin for a little over two years. I am taking a long-needed break from working in the rat race this city has in terms of work to focus on things that matter more to me, which includes animals! Animals and taking care of them has always something that I have been passionate about, and I even considered going back to school to be a Veterinarian at one point. Taking care of animals and making sure they are living a wonderful life they deserve with the attention they need is the most priority for me as a sitter.
I also have a personal pet ownership experience when it comes to small dogs and rabbits. I have had a small Havanese-Maltese for the past 12 years and two rabbits. Currently, in my home in Berlin, I have a deaf angora rabbit who is 5 years old. My previous rabbit was a special-needs rabbit, who needed to be constantly monitored and taken extra care. If anyone knows what it is like to have a special-needs pet, it can be very time consuming but it is worth it all to see how happy their lives can be. When it comes to special needs, medicine regime, or even restrict diets, I am very comfortable to do such tasks as a sitter as I have had to do these for my own animals.
For dog walks, you can be sure your dog will be exercised with a minimum 30 min walk, rain or shine! If a dog is energetic and likes long walks, not a problem! Exercise is always good. If this is an all day sitting arrangement, I will take your dog out two times a day for walks and of course to use the bathroom as often as they need.
I am currently freelancing and have time almost everyday to take care of your pets. In my apartment, I only live with my husband and our pet rabbit. They both are very friendly and my rabbit is good with other animals. Our rabbit also has his own enclosure in case other animals are a little hesitant around others, so they would not have to meet if the owner doesn’t want them. Any guest pets are welcomed to sleep in our warm and cozy living room. We have a large 3m couch that we are also happy to be used as a warm bed for guests as well.
One of my main motivation for being a pet sitter is to be able to just love on some animals and to give peace of mind to owners if they have to work long hours or have to go out of town for a little while. As a pet owner, I know it is hard to trust your beloved pets to just anyone and you don't always want to ask your same friends over and over again. I am happy to help give you peace of mind when it comes to your pets being taken cared for when you might need some extra help.
