I would love to experience the local life away from home, and I really enjoy taking care of pets! I want to step outside of my comfort zone, in that I leave my home, as I live on an island (Mallorca), and can feel a little isolated at times. 

In the past year, I was diagnosed with a histamine intolerance, which consequently caused me to have to stay home a lot. This is where I began petsitting with different dogs to be productive, and I had a lot of fun! The owner would drop the dog off at my home, and I would play with her, wash, brush, and dry her when it rained, and feed her according to a very specific schedule! I have also taken care of my neighbours cats, in that I would feed them on a strict schedule! The cats were quite low maintenance. When going on walks, I make sure to stay out at least 20 minutes if its a short walk, but normally I do 40 minutes where I let the dog sniff at everything so that it gets stimulation, and I also play fetch with them so that they receive some extra exercise! The amount of walks and their durations depend on he size and type of dog, as many dogs require more exercise, so I like to adapt it to their needs!

I am comfortable with taking care of dogs and cats. I'd be happy to go on walks with them, and I would be happy to feed them, play with them, and wash them! As you can see in my pictures, I have been surrounded by many animals since I was very young, so I truly have a lot of experience taking care of them! I also love teaching dogs new tricks as it stimulates their brain and is super fun!

In unexpected situations, for example if we run into an aggressive dog while on a walk, I would shorten the leash of the dog I am taking care of and put myself between the two dogs, while asking the owner to back away, and me also putting distance between the two dogs. I would then reassure your dog with words and petting to make sure they aren't scared!

I do not have any requirements for which type of dog I want to take care of, although I would prefer a happy medium-sized dog that enjoys being around me and isn't aggressive!

I have one dog myself who I absolutely adore, and so I have over 10 years of experience with dog walking, taking care of dogs, training them, and knowing what they can and cannot eat! In the past I have had cats, fish, and a hamster. I am healthy now and would like to travel a bit, and would love to take care of your pet/s in exchange for visiting your home country. :)
