About Laura

Animals have always been an important part of my life, and becoming a pet sitter feels like a natural way to combine my experience, compassion, and love for their companionship. My perfect job! As a naturally quiet and caring person, I often find that I connect especially well with animals. I enjoy their company, understand their need for patience and consistency, and genuinely value the trust they place in us.

My love of cats began when I was 17 with my first rescue cat, Harvey, who lived to the remarkable age of 21. Since then, I have cared for several cats, including Tiger, who was sadly taken from us at just two years old. In 2025, our family adopted two rescue cats—a mother and daughter pair—who continue to bring so much joy to our home.

As a pet owner myself, I understand exactly what matters when entrusting a beloved pet to someone else's care. I know how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved, while owners want reassurance, reliability, and regular communication. I appreciate that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to ensure those needs are met.

I also worked as a pony trek supervisor for 2 summer in 2010 and 2012. This involves caring for the ponies before, during and after the treak, ensuring the animals were treated with the utmost respect as most of the riders were children, and they needed guidance on how to behave and handle the ponys correctly.

I have spent many years pet sitting for family and friends, caring for their pets as though they were my own. What attracts me most to pet sitting is knowing that I am making a real difference to an animal's wellbeing while giving owners complete peace of mind. I am reliable, attentive, and committed to providing the highest standard of care for every pet I look after.
