My name is Sara and I have loads of experience pet sitting dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities along with caring for my own animals throughout my whole life ranging from wild birds, dogs, cats, rabbits and mice. 

I got into dog walking and pet sitting 'professionally' after moving back to Canada after living in Africa for eight years. I've worked at 2 doggy day cares professionally and also operated my own out my own place for a year and a half. I've worked at 2 hospitals as a vet tech assistant in the emergency and neurology departments. I hold two degrees (bachelor's and masters) in non pet related fields (conflict Studies and natural resource management)

Currently, I am newish to Berlin and am still looking for the perfect job or additional masters program to start of my career. I decided I would continue with animal care in the meantime.

Because I have owned my own animals, I know first hand how much stress leaving your animals behind can cause you and how important it is to feel like they are in safe hands. I can assure you, I fit into this category.

I have been told I have 'a way' with animals and have been known to foster strong bonds with all different species of animals, through utilizing interpersonal skills such as empathy, compassion and understanding.

Do your animals have special needs?

No need to worry. My own animals have had some special needs too. I have experience catering to anxiety with thunder and loud noises, obsessive chewing, biting and skin conditions, as well as physical injuries and emergencies (broken limbs, animals bites, and poison)

Dog type experience:

- rescued, anxious and reactive dogs including (dogs brought over from developing countries or who have been quarantined)

-  personally owned three dogs with my ex husband in Africa for 8 years that we rescued from the streets. 

I have a genuine calm and caring presence and am very patient with animals. I easily gain the trust of the animals I look after and hopefully yours in the long run!

I currently work very flexible hours so my availability can be customized to a point in order to set up the best care for your pet.

I put your pets safety first! I have level one cpr for small animals and have been a pet owner for years. I know how much they mean to you so I take the utmost precautionary measures to keep your babies safe. Some safety measures I take include: avoiding accidental injection of toxic items, ensuring collar is secure and using extra contact points for backup such as a harness, adhering to leashing norms specified by you, administering medication on time and consistently, keeping my phone on me at all times while with your pet in case of an emergency and many other forms of precautionary care. 

Mein Name ist Sara und ich habe viel Erfahrung im Aufpassen von Hunden und Katzen aller Größen und Persönlichkeiten sowie in der Betreuung meiner eigenen Tiere, darunter Wildvögel, Hunde, Katzen, Kaninchen und Mäuse.

Nachdem ich acht Jahre in Afrika gelebt hatte, kehrte ich nach Kanada zurück und begann „beruflich“ mit dem Gassigehen und Tiersitten von Haustieren. Ich bin derzeit neu in Berlin und suche immer noch nach diesem Beruf. Ich habe beschlossen, dass die Tierpflege eine großartige Möglichkeit wäre, mein Einkommen als häusliche Pflegekraft aufzubessern, während ich nach dem richtigen Job suche.

Da ich selbst Tiere besitze, weiß ich aus erster Hand, wie viel Stress es für Sie bedeuten kann, wenn Sie Ihre Tiere zurücklassen, und wie wichtig es ist, sich in sicheren Händen zu fühlen. Ich kann Ihnen versichern, dass ich in diese Kategorie passe.

Mir wurde gesagt, dass ich „einen Händchen“ für den Umgang mit Tieren habe und dass ich durch den Einsatz zwischenmenschlicher Fähigkeiten wie Empathie, Mitgefühl und Verständnis starke Bindungen zu allen Tierarten pflege.

Haben Ihre Tiere besondere Bedürfnisse?

Kein Grund zur Sorge. Auch meine eigenen Tiere hatten einige besondere Bedürfnisse. Ich habe Erfahrung im Umgang mit Angstzuständen durch Donner und laute Geräusche, zwanghaftem Kauen, Beißen und Hauterkrankungen sowie körperlichen Verletzungen und Notfällen (gebrochene Gliedmaßen, Tierbisse und Gift).

Erfahrung mit dem Hundetyp:

- Rettung, einschließlich (Hunde, die aus Entwicklungsländern mitgebracht wurden oder unter Quarantäne gestellt wurden)

- reines Brot (Belgischer Malinois, Border Collie, Australischer Schäferhund, Jack Russell, Pitbull, Labrador, Ridgeback, Doodle, Französische Bulldogge, Whippet)

- gemischt

Ich habe eine aufrichtige ruhige und fürsorgliche Ausstrahlung und bin sehr geduldig im Umgang mit Tieren. Ich gewinne leicht das Vertrauen der Tiere, die ich betreue, und hoffentlich auch langfristig Ihr Vertrauen!
