I’m a 41-year-old journalist with over 25 years of experience caring for dogs and other animals.

I'm remarkably experienced with dachshunds. I know their quirks, unique health needs, legendary spunk and stubbornness, and I love 'em all. 🥰 

🐶 Lola is the seven-year-old dachshund that reigns as queen of the flat and is always happy to share her throne and toys with all fellow short-legged guests!

🏠 Our home: We live in a dog-safe 74 sqm Altbau with ramps, cushions and plenty of space for your dog to play, snooze, and feel at home.

🏞️ Walks: We will explore Friedrichshain’s parks together, with two or three daily walks and plenty of fresh air. Your dog will also come along wherever I go.

📷 Updates: You’ll get regular news and photos while your pup is with Lola & me.

♿ Special needs: Since I work from home, anxious dogs or pups with special requirements can get extra care and attention.

❤️‍🩹 Post-op care: I have real, hands-on experience with IVDD and recovery after surgery: crate rest, bladder expression, physio, gentle walks, and endless encouragement.

A few practical notes:

🐕 Before their stay: Tell me about your dog’s daily rhythm—how they eat, walk, sleep, play, and anything else that makes them feel at home. The more I know, the better!

🎒 Packing list: Bring everything your pup needs: bed, food, treats, bowls, favourite toys and poop bags. I’ll take care of the rest.

⏰ Drop-off and pick-up are arranged in advance to suit everyone’s schedule!

A few rules:

⚠️ Because of Lola’s back issues, we can only welcome small dogs up to 7 kg.

⚠️ To keep Lola and all visiting pups safe and well, all dogs must arrive in good health, with core vaccinations up to date and effective flea and tick prophylaxis in place. Dogs with signs of infectious disease (cough, diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, visible parasites) cannot stay.

⚠️ Dogs must be fully house-trained. No exceptions. If a dog marks or soils indoors, the furniture or textiles need professional cleaning. The dog’s guardian must cover the full cost of collection, return, cleaning, and any replacement. This happened only once before, but it needs to be said.

⚠️ Boarding dogs must manage up to 2 hours alone so I can get to an appointment or grab groceries. During these times, they stay in the flat with Lola, so they are never entirely alone.

⚠️ Guardians remain responsible for any damage or injury caused by their dog to people, other dogs, or property.

⚠️ Boarding always begins with a one-day trial to see how your pup settles without you.

⚠️ The day care fee covers you for anywhere between 1 and 8 hours.

⚠️ For overnight stays, pick-up and drop-off should stay close to the drop-off time. A delay of up to 2 hours is included in the boarding price. For delays of more than 2 hours and up to 8 hours, a full-day care fee of 50 euros will be added. For delays of more than 8 hours and up to 24 hours, an additional overnight stay is charged at the standard boarding rate of 75 euros.
