Every dog/cat is a great friend. My first pet came in the form of my family dog, Scooby. She (yes, she) was a doberman who was more like a sibling to me. You can say although doberman is a challenging breed for first time pet-parents, she thrived under our care and love. Needlessly so say, 11 years later her passing broke our hearts and we vowed to never replace her with a pet, to prevent getting hurt again. But the love for animals was always in our hearts. We couldn't help but adopt Indian street dogs if and when they chose us. I took care of litters of puppies growing up. Recently, my heart was full with more love when, in Mumbai, Paris, and Greece, I pet my first cat properly. The purrs melted me. Since then I am a cat lover too!
