Hi! I moved to Berlin a year ago with my partner but am originally from Romania, where street dogs used to be a constant presence, so I grew up befriending and caring for stray cats and dogs in my neighborhood.
🐱My parents only allowed cats in the house so we had three cats growing up (including one that had a litter of kittens), so I learned how to provide around the clock care for them from an early age.
🐶🍼Then eight years ago, I had my own dog for the first time when I found an abandoned newborn puppy on the side of the road - my boy, Kylo. I bottle-fed him, trained him, and cared for him through all life stages, from puppyhood to now his senior years. This included managing some anxiety-related behaviors, basic training, monitoring his health, and regular grooming for his stunning but high-maintenance long coat. And of course, we have a lot of fun together being active and enjoying the outdoors. Although I moved abroad for my PhD, I continue to care for Kylo whenever I visit home, including nature walks, grooming, and vet appointments.
Because of my experience with both strays and my own pets, I am comfortable caring for both cats and dogs of all ages, including puppies, seniors, and animals that may need a little extra patience or attention.
As a dog owner myself, I understand the trust involved in leaving your pet with someone else. I care for every animal as I would care for my own, and it's important to me to provide owners with peace of mind that their pets are safe and well looked after. I'm also an amateur photographer, so you can be sure I will be sharing an abundance of photos of your pets for extra assurance. I also understand how individual animals have very different needs and am keenly aware of how important it is to follow the owner's instructions regarding feeding, medication and training.
At the moment, I offer house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking. I am not currently offering boarding while I confirm my building's pet policy.
💗It is still my dream to one day set up a sustainable dog rescue and shelter in my hometown and advocate for stray dogs there. And in the meantime, I am happy to provide reliable care for pets in Berlin and treat them as I would my own.
PS: I am still learning German but am fluent in "pet speak" 🙂.
